I did SO bad on a few tests lately. Like grade plummeting down 13 points bad… Physics is a real b word I must say…

As I obsessively checked the grade book 15 times in the last 30 minutes to see if anything had changed (If you are a student, I know you are guilty of this too!), and when I finally had the realization that it wasn’t going to change anymore tonight, something else hit me.

The other day on my Instagram I posted a picture of a bible verse I wrote out all pretty for a friend of mine, and it has really been on my heard lately. School is one of my worries obviously, but there has been some things in my personal life that have really taken a tole lately. Proverbs 31:25. “She is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future.”

She laughs without fear of the future.

Everything we are faced with daily, the good, the bad, the small, the big, is all for a bigger purpose. The few B’s I have right now are not the end of the world and will not ruin my future. They will actually be apart of my journey and take me where I am meant to be!

Those mean kids in school have a purpose in my life and are here to teach me patience and grace.

Those days where I really don’t think I can persevere but I do anyways are hard, but later I realize that they made me stronger.

I am no longer crying over my test grade. I am rejoicing in what it will teach me and where it will take me. I am laughing at the future with no fear because I know that the Lord is on my side.

What we need.

It wasn’t until the other night that I realized how in denial I have been of a truth I thought I understood but never actually did: God loves me.

And I don’t say this lightly.

I say this with a heavy heart, that has been full of doubt and and lies I have told myself since the day I accepted Christ. I told myself that God loves me, but I never actually believed it. I now realize what that actually means.

It’s not something that just plays in my head anymore. It is the purpose of my life.

God loves us so much that he sent his son to take away our burdens, yet we still hold on to them until we can’t handle it, instead of turning to the father.

Or when a boy rejects us, we believe we aren’t loved, when in reality there is a love so great that nothing can be compared to it.

Why is it that so many of us deny this “truth” we thought we had believed?

Do we truly know that God loves us?

Or are we just repeating in our heads what we were told at church.

Let it sink in. God loves YOU.

You are loved, and cherished by the Lord. The God that created you appreciates you and wants you to succeed, and has set up your path so that you may do so.

But we can’t follow God’s plan without truly accepting this love and understanding it, because if we didn’t trust in him, then we wouldn’t be following his plan, but our own.

We need to know that someone loves us so much that they planed everything to fit into their grand plan. We need to know that someone loves us so much that they know every hair on our head, and every cell of our body. We need to know that someone loves us because we are human. We need to know that the one that loves us is God.

John 3:16. Go read it right now.

Fall, sweet fall.

It is still incredibly hot in Texas, but something is just screaming fall in the 98 degree air. There are just so many things that I want to accomplish over the next season and so I thought I would do a part two of my goals, but fall style.
1. Get running! It is officially getting cooler here in Texas and so I need to stop making excuses and get my butt moving.

2.Bake and cook more. This may seem quite contradictory to the last goal, but who doesn’t love apple crumble or pumpkin chai lattes on a cool falls day?

3. Read for pleasure. This is a goal I have not yet accomplished from part 1, but would truly love to continue to work on.

4. Find the perfect cozy knit cardigan. I am on the hunt for an oversized cardigan that is cute, but also comfortable. The goal is to find one that when I put it on, I feel like it’s giving me a warm hug, but a loose and oversized warm hug.

5. Keep the room in shape. As the school year progresses, the washing pile gets bigger and the room gets messier. I still clean it and keep it tidy but it just takes me like 3 days of procrastinating to do it…. And my washing needs to be done more so that my entire closet isn’t in the hamper…

6. Enjoy fun times with family and friends! Because warmly fall isn’t meant to be enjoyed alone, but with the ones you love.

Why I deleted my Twitter

Twitter is a wonderful forum in which good news can be shared, but so can the bad unfortunately.

I subtweeted the other day about an incredibly menial high school drama that in the moment I felt like was the end of the world, but after realizing that it was not only stupid but not the whole worlds (well my world, as a blog is different because I don’t know most of you personally) place in knowing why I was mad. Not only is it easy to be immature on, but I’d just rather laugh about life and not have to have it be put out there that I thought something was funny.

I think Twitter can be so awsOme, but it’s not awesome more than it is awesome, which is why I decided to say my farewell to the Twitter world.

After deleting it, I realized that everything I think is like Ohhhh that’s tweet worthy, or if something happens I’m like yay let’s put it on Twitter. How sad is that? That I can’t just enjoy a moment in life because I put my true satisfaction into it others would favorite a tweet!

Instagram I love because I don’t care what others think- I use it as a forum of my creativity and my life. No joke coming up with captions is the most fun I have when it comes to using my phone.

But Twitter is dangerous. Anything can be put out there, in an instant of anger, and the power of the screenshot is even more powerful than a gun shot in some ways.

If I want to say how I feel, I would rather blog about it, or even better, talk about it to my mum or sister or friends. That way I can save the interesting stuff for here, but I just really wanted to put this feeling into words for some reason.

Cheers! -Claire

Style icon: Clare Bowen

Not only do I love the name, but this songstress’s unique and etherial style is one that I wish to share with her as well. As well as her beautiful voice of course. And hair. And everything…

I am absolutely in love with this sheer dress. The shape is so beautiful. And she looks like a unicorn.

Hey Clare, wanna go get a cup of coffee on a breezy fall day and talk about life?

You are a flower princess. And cool tambourine, by the way.

Summers day out outfit goals. I am so in love with the boots especially.

Okay, I’m about to pull a bling ring and steal your belongings.

Just because she is beautiful.

It’s been a while…

Hi everyone, today I just got so fed up with the fact I have been away for about a month and I though I would just let you know how I have been and where I am at.

So I began my junior year four weeks and went into the school year feeling really down. I felt like the year would be draining, and as if I would never have time for family, church, or even myself. Somehow, I have found a balance for once in my life, and I am so blessed for that. I am taking classes I love, and although they challenge me, they also make me excited to learn.

Before this year, school was just something I had to do, but now it’s an opportunity to look at God from different perspectives.

Education is hard because it is a group of people telling you about the world. How do you know what’s right? What’s wrong? Who to listen to? I guess I just am blessed with people that I trust with shaping my thoughts. And if I don’t trust someone, then I discuss it with the people I trust and see what they have to say.

Socially, school has been better than ever. I’m not going out all the time or anything, but I have a strong hold of who I am and I won’t let go of that for anyone. I guess nothing’s ever perfect, but I am really content.

So school isn’t terrible for once in my life, yay!

Church is going well. My faith is strong right now but I really need to stop making excuses and just dig into the word. The church I attend is currently going through a translation and it is really hard on us as a whole. There is a lot of joy in the blessings we have received and it’s easy to be grateful for them, but with some staff having left things aren’t the same and change isn’t easy.

Overall, everything is good, and I am so happy with everything right now. I know this isn’t the fanciest blog post or the most perfect deep wording but I just wanted to quickly say hi and that I am alive! God bless! Xx -Claire

Just some goals for the next while…

I love setting goals and am constantly doing it! When I set my mind to something and am passionate about it, I go hardcore… But I can only obsess over one thing at a time! So here are my current goals:

  • Just get the damn homework done… Basically I spent so much time last year being distracted by silly things like my phone and by midnight would still have so much to do, which wasn’t fun at all.
  • Walk as much as possible: not only is it healthy for the bod, but it’s also awesome for the soul… I remember when I would run everyday how much more focused I was on my homework as well!
  • Yoga everyday: again, another thing that’s good for the body and soul. No explanation needed.
  • Pack healthy lunches to school: last year my lunches were usually either brought or just apples and peanut butter which is delicious but I want to fuel my body even better this school year!
  • Eat breakfast everyday: because it’s the most important meal of the day.
  • Adventure around Dallas more: it’s a cool place, so no more complaining, and more exploring.
  • Read my bible more
  • Read for pleasure
  • Call my sister and dad as much as possible
  • Play my guitar more often
  • Doodle more
  • Drink more water
  • Get more sleep

Hope you enjoyed this post 🙂
